xxxxxNearly fifty years ago, at the age of twenty-seven, I came into a clear realization of who and what I truly was as a Human Being. Along with this awakening came fleeting memories and impressions of former lives, and with them, an inner commitment: to never again forget what I now understood to be my true nature.

xxxxxDuring my brief college studies in theology, I encountered the Eastern philosophies of Taoism and Buddhism. They resonated deeply within me and affirmed the quiet rebellion I had felt toward the Roman Catholic religion of my childhood. Through direct experience, I began to understand why one might choose the monastic Taoist or Buddhist path — a life devoted to awakening beyond the distractions and forgetfulness of the world.

xxxxxAt the same time, I was beginning a career as a professional dancer and found myself standing at a profound crossroads: Would I enter a monastic life to preserve this awareness, or remain fully engaged in the world and seek to embody this consciousness through the richness and challenges of human experience?

I chose the latter- to live as an Infinite Being within a finite life.
